I was raised in Sugar Land, Texas, a suburb of Houston. Upon graduating high school, I participated in a NOLS trip to the Wind River Range, where I developed a foundation in rock climbing, backpacking, and outdoor leadership. Soon after, I moved to Golden, Colorado to pursue a degree in engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. While there, I worked as a bike mechanic and trip leader, guiding students and faculty on backcountry adventures. I continued climbing and exploring both domestically and internationally throughout college. After graduating, I moved to Alaska in May of 2013. I worked for a summer as a dog handler on the Mendenhall glacier before joining the Happy Trails crew in Big Lake. I'm very grateful to work with Martin and his family in such a beautiful place.
