We miss our Visitors. The dogs are pretty surprised not to get all the usual summer cuddles. We are trying to offer some tours this season. Alaskan residents, seniors and members of the military will receive a 5% discount. We are requiring a minimum of 3 Adult reservations per booking. We hope you might gather friends and family and come out to Happy Trails for some doggie fun!!
We hope you will follow the the two Happy Trails Teams along the trail!!!!! Tim Pappas is driving the A team and Martin is on a Field Trip with the young, inexperienced dogs!!!!

We are excited to ring in 2020 with another Iditarod Race on the calendar!!! The Race begins this year on March 7 with the Ceremonial Start in Anchorage. Martin will be competing in his 37th iditarod. We have a bit of a twist in this year's race plan - Martin will be driving a yearling team to introduce them to the trail while Tim Pappas will be driving the "A" team dogs. Tim has worked with HTK athletes for several years and in fact, he took many of the dogs he will be driving this year when they were yearlings in 2016. Look for 2 Buser teams on the trail!!!!
Disney+ streaming service released TOGO in late December. Martin was the Leonhard Seppala Photo Double/Musher to Willem Dafoe in the production which took place last winter in Alberta, Canada. The movie has been met with very positive reviews. The story of Togo's contribution to the 1925 Serum Run or Great Race of Mercy is finally being told and we thank Disney for setting the record straight! Balto contributed but Togo was a much more critical factor in the history of saving Nome. Have a few kleenex ready if you decide to watch!!!
January brings training and race prep to the forefront. Teams are typically going on 50 mile runs and trails around Big Lake are finally snowy and cold. Cooking and Packing for Food Drops begin in earnest!!!
