The Sockeye Fire in the Willow, Alaska area has claimed the homes of many of our dog mushing friends. Deedee Jonrowe and Justin and Jaimee High are staying at Happy Trails Kennel along with their dogs. We also have Vern Halter's dogs here and several recreational musher dogs. Thanks to our dog food sponsor, Eagle Super Premium Pet Food and WellPet we have ample dog food.
We are overwhelmed by the generosity offered!!! We will be posting news on how to help.
The Sockeye Fire is 0% contained on Day 3, not a good sign. It was a record 85 degrees yesterday. Hot and dry and no sign of rain. People and dogs doing well!!!
We are not in FIRE danger and we are maintaining our tour schedule.

Just keep in mind that some of the reports on a few sites tend to be sensationalized.
Our summer tour season is well under way and we are happy to once again welcome visitors from around the world. An overwhelming favorite part of the tour is holding puppies and we are lucky to have two litters born in June. Independent travelers can make reservations for the tours held at 2:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. See the VISIT link at the top of this page.
Our B&B is also available for overnight stays and B&B guests receive a 10% discount on tours.
